Days 39 and 40: Vienna

 Wednesday 9th October.

A wander around town to the museum quarter, a few wines and my last Weiner Schnitzel for this trip. My last glass of Sturm.

Thursday 10 th October,

Well that's it folks, in a few hours we heading to the airport for the long flight home touching down early Saturday morning.

Great holiday but ready for home now

Day 37 and 38: Vienna

 Monday 7th to Tuesday 8th.

Monday, well after the excitement of Felixdorf it was back on the train to Vienna.

We are in wind down mode, working out what we need to see again. More importantly finding places to sit and people watch with a glass of wine.

A ride in the last of the old rattling trams which I still like.

A final drink in a little street bar before calling it a night

Tuesday 8th October,

It's my birthday and I will do what I want to!

Thought we might wander the grounds of Schloss Belvedere so back on the trams.

Back to hotel early afternoon and our hotel loves me also!

Red wine and chocolate, yum.

So again we catch-up with Brigitte and Gerhard who said they have organised something special for my birthday 🎂 🎂 💐 💐. That they did, Brigitte remembered my love of goose with red cabbage. Usually not available for another 3 to 4 weeks. But she found a place, and how good the place was.

What a great birthday!!

Feeling very special.

Day 36: Felixdorf

 Sunday 6 th October.

Today we drove 40 minutes to Pernitz.

This is an area popular with walkers at the base of the Austrian mountains. 

Erich and Manuela have friends who run a Gasthaus in the area.

Delicate little meals, especially the chocolate, nut pancakes!

Snapps with every meal.
